Outer Banks North Carolina Fishing Reports
Fun day offshore
When fishing offshore for tuna, dolphin, and billfish, you never know what you're going to catch or hook up on. Toward the end of the day, we hook this nice 55lb wahoo on 20lb test line. When your fishing a big fish on light line. its just a matter of taking your time. We also had four cobia as well.
Lost trip photo
Thanks to a wet camera, I lost a ton of photos . Here's a photo of a half day trip that we boated a mix of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. Great fish for dinner and fun to catch.
Offshore bite good
I was out last week with Jeff Watkins and crew for an offshore trip. The morning was very slow, but I found a nice color change that afternoon and we caught a nice cooler full of small to large Dolphin. We also hook a billfish, but after a few minute fight and a several nice jumps, it was gone. Get a crew together and lets go offshore.
Way past due report
Ok, I know I'm over a month past due on the fishing reports but there is only so many hours in a day. I've also got to buy a new camera, because my old one has been wet one too many times. I've had some great new clients this summer and always welcome back returning clients. The fishing has been good most days, but there has been a few that have just been poor. Its fishing, it cant always be great. Here is a few past due photos starting with Troy Nipper and family.
Day off fishing trip
I had the afternoon off so fellow captain Dave Lusk and myself ventured down the coast to look for some Cobia. We did not find any Cobia, but did run into a nice school of big Red Drum. After catching and releasing a few of these big boys, it was time to head in for the day. It's always fun catching fish with your buds.
